Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neuro-developmental disorder that affects a person’s ability to control hyperactivity, manage impulsivity, achieve a normal degree of focus, sustained attention, and the ability to follow instructions. It can manifest itself as the persistent inability to maintain attention, the inability to restrain impulsivity and physical and mental hyperactivity, or a combination of each of these symptoms. ADHD can occur in younger children and can create a lifelong learning disability and health issue if left untreated. If you or a family member are exhibiting the symptoms of ADHD, please consider seeking medical advice and treatment from a licensed medical professional like a child psychologist with a specialty in its diagnosis and treatment.
